Should I insist that the damaged case also be replaced at no additional cost? Especially since the case damage and liquid damage occurred in the same incident (in my haste to grab the beer glass, I knocked it and the laptop off of a table onto a cement floor). In retrospect, it's my understanding that Tier 4 essentially replaces everything that's damaged, including the case. I also pointed out a corner of the top case was badly dented at the hinge, and the tech said they could replace it, but at an additional charge of several hundred dollars, which I declined. I already knew this would qualify as a Tier 4 repair at $1240.00, but it still represents a good value to me because even though it's an early 2013 model 15" Retina it has the faster CPU and 16GB RAM/512G SSD, and I'm not especially impressed with the new MBP. hide this posting restore restore this posting.
